Let's see if everyone can add one to the list and what we end up with
I'll start with two (though I know more) to get the ball rolling
Ya'ir Margalit of the aptly named Margalit Winery who studied high speed fermentation at UC Davis before decidind to write two texts on winemaking.
Gil Shatzberg of Recanati and previously Amphorae (I mention the former for many of the wines he made are stil floating on the shelves) also studied at UC Davis
a pretty impressive start to the list...
after this list I'd like to see what lists of which winemakers studied in other countries and subregions for instance I know we could start a list for:
France (Burgandy, Bordeaux and other regions)
Italy
Australia
Tasmania
South Africa

Nice, I'll take a crack at this. Apologize in advance if I get anything wrong.
Victor Schoenfeld (whoa, spelled that right on the first try!), GHW
Lewis Pasco, formerly Recanati, now consulting, would maybe like to hear an update on what he's up to.
there's someone else, I think, I remember seeing they were a UC Davis grad and being surprised for some reason, I think it's a smaller winery...ah, can't think of the winemaker.

it would be interesting to get a collective map of all Israel's winemakers to demonstrate that our winemakers aren't strictly growers aspiring to be winemakers but winemakers trained in the finest recognized wine schools and interned at some amazing wineries.

BS"D
I was thinking that with my kids now getting ready to learn in Israel anyway, it might be a good time to relocate there and make wine. I do have a reputation, I am a Davis grad, and I do have a quarter century of experience in winemaking. Anyone hearing of winemaker or general manager/winemaker positions, I would love to hear about them. Especially larger firms interested in improving their product. I know that people in Israel are vociferous in their approval and respect for Israeli wines, but really, I taste quite a bit of room for improvement with many. Was at the Herzog tasting with David Raccah, and tasted many blah wines, from all over the world, including Israel. Perhaps the wines were just being tasted too soon after shipping, but is that really what comapnies want to promote- wine in bottle shock or travel shock? So I'm assuming that is not the case, and that the wines actually tasted the way they tasted. If so, there's plenty of room for improvement, and I can facilitate it.
